How to Build Online Courses That Make You an Expert in Your Own Field

Online courses are an excellent way to build online authority quickly. With online courses, you can teach people the skills they need to succeed in their business by sharing your expertise.
This means that you can create an online course for any topic as a specialist in that field! The best part is that online courses are very easy to create when you are an expert - all you need is Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Keynote presentation software, your knowledge of the subject matter, and a Webinar system to deliver the content.
In this blog post, we'll talk about different types of online course formats to help you focus on marketing yourself as an expert, build a customer base, and turn them into clients. I will outline the types of courses and this article will break down the first type with subsequent articles breaking down the other two.
- ONE: The EASY 3 lesson course.
- TWO: The SIMPLE 10 lesson course.
- THREE: The DEEP DIVE Certification 60 lesson courses.
Each of these has a particular place in the marketing scheme when building your digital reputation. You may hear some experienced or not-so-experienced marketers refer to these as a tripwire or ethical bribe. They are both of those but they also have the ability to help you build your online marketing quickly and easily.
THE EASY THREE-LESSON COURSE
The first is the "EASY" 3 lesson course. This course is designed to give the potential client a "GIFT" something they can use immediately and confidently. I emphasize the word confidently with purpose. If you make it complicated they will NOT use the technique. That is the first lesson for the first TWO types of courses.
"CONFIDENCE IS KING!"
So the first "EASY" course should be something that can be applied easily by the student immediately after watching (think Youtube tutorials that you love). It should be delivered with a single lesson or three small lessons. I like three small 6 minute lessons. The psychology behind this is strong. Three lessons is a course, not a webinar or tutorial. Three lessons have greater value than one long lesson. One lesson has a tendency to be a lecture and this takes the focus off the outcome of taking action confidently.
Three lessons give the student time to "digest" the information. The pause between lessons allows the information to sink into the mind for stronger and more confident action later. This is what you want, for your student to take action and that action to be the right and confident action.
So your EASY 3 Lesson Course should solve a simple problem that the student WANTS solve. This problem should be a "splinter" that you help them remove. It is not surgery but it hurts like hell and they will love you forever because YOU helped remove the pain.
Thinking along this line of reasoning, your Easy 3 Lesson Course is actually a "set up" for your coaching, your larger course, or consulting. This is the perfect way to introduce people easily and effectively into your expertise.
